Default Alarm System????

I only have a 98 v6 Mustang but I would like to have an alarm system on it but I do not know what exactly to get. The stores want you to but the most expensive thing that they have and sometimes they are POS. So if you have any ideas Please Please let me know.

Viper is always a good one, and the Lo-Jack alarm is also super good. It all depends on your budget. What's your budget?

I have a Viper 550ESP Remote Start on my truck. I don't have any complaints about it. I would like to put an alarm system on my mustang as well. I am going to look into an alarm system with a gps tracking system. Viper and LoJack both have this option, but with my experience with my Viper alarm system I will probably stick with Viper.

I had the 550 installed at circuit city for around $400. That included a couple extras though. I believe the system itself was around $300 installed. Keep in mind you have to have an automatic transmission for remote start. The alarm system without remote start is a little cheaper.

As far as the gps tracking system, the website says it will work with any "ESP2". I didn't look around to much, but most of the systems that I saw are just "ESP". I have no clue the the 2 means.

Here is the website if you want to look further into it.

Thanks for the help and the info from the web site reall did help. I have a 5 speed so I wont be getting the remote start or anything. I dont know what the 2 means either maybe if I go up to Circut City and ask I wonder if they would know. Well its worth the try anyway.
