Post Alarms and other security doo-hickeys

We all know that alarms aren't the best way to secure the car from theft, and I have noticed a trend of guys with the know how to wire in kill switches and various deadfalls for a theif to negotiate. Tell us what you have done and how you did it. I am interested in the different approaches to this problem.

I'm going to remove my A/C from my car so basically i'm going to remove the wires from the dash A/C control and run a relay in the positive coil wire circuit to the coil and have the relay activated from say, the Max AC selection on the dash switch. The last thing a thief is going to do is turn on the AC before starting a car and it's hard to detect. I've heard of people doing this with the cruise control circuit as well. Are you going to put a kill switch in your car? What have you heard of? I'm interested as well.
