Question

Why do the 99-00 Stangs have so little trunk space? I had to get a custom box to fit my 12's in there. And its not really trunk space thats the problem, the opening is too small to fit a dual 12" box in there and the rear deck speakers go down too low.

OK, I've got a question on subs. I have a pioneer dh 545 deck from 98 or so I think. With an ancient soundstream amp and a single 12 pioneer sub from the stone ages. I only want to upgrade the sub. I want a 12" single that would sound good with this deck and amp and I'd like to spend under $150, which sub would you recommend?

I would recommend you stay with the Pioneer subs. You can get one for $100-120, unless you find a sale. I have two cheap Kenwood 12s and they sound fine, I got them for $100 for 2. I wouldn't recomend Rockford Fosgate, with my 200 watt amp I melted the voice coils. They were dirt cheap though.

Stick with pioneer, just get a newer sub. Are the newer subs a lot better. I'm guessing mine is 5-6 years old. Would buying a new one help a lot or not worth it?

guys, without question go with jl subs. they are the best bang for the buck on the market. a lot of times they get pricey, but im from philly and can get them for you for like 125 each for a 12. the jl's can handle a lot of power but wont sound bad from a "bad" amp. belive me, if u want attention or just mind boggling thump, go jl.

Question Re: Answer All your Car Audio Qustions

I posted a thread on the Audio section - But here you go!

I have a '98 Stang that has the Mach 460 Sound already in it, I want to purchase a Ford OEM 6 Disc CD Changer (in dash mount) to replace the one that is there now. Is there anything special I may need to buy extra. (like a wiring harness or do any Modifications to the Dash/Console) & The 10 Million $$ question is: Will it be totally compatable? Or will there be some issues I should know about before doing so? Thank you for your time.

I just purchased a stock cd player for the 95 Gt 460 mach system. I have also purchased an additional wiring harness to connect the two. Now for the hard part..HOW do I get power to the cd unit? I connected the cd to the radio with the grey wire, the black wire is marked amp at both ends, where do these connect?

I'd appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks
Dan

I am not following you. You already have a radio but now you want to install the CD player too? Or are you removing the old radio and replacing it with a stock CD player? Let me research and get back with ya in a few.

Hey Guys, I'm new to the site considering i just bought my first stang 2 weeks ago and i was wondering if thers anybody that can answer a couple of my question? First of i have a 02 GT with the mach audio system in it except for the jvc head unit that the previous owner installed. The first Is what size speakers are in my doors and rear deck? The second is weird. I was wondering if the pillar speakers are able to be taken apart so that you can put aftermarket tweeters in them and still have the stock look.If so please let me know how so that i can put my separate's in... thanks mike

Hi. I need to trouble shoot why my front speakers are not working. These are the door speakers. If the amp is in the back which one is it. And what do you suggest for fixing it. The connections look good . Thanks.

Have you just tested them at the terminals of the speakers?
What year car?
Is it an all stock set up?
Did they just stop all the sudden?

I have a 96 GT. I can't remember that they ever worked
I am not sure where to begin. If you can walk me slowly through the trouble shooting procedure I would appreciate it. Please know that I do not have any schematics on the stereo. It is a stock Mach 460. I am not sure where to begin. I have put car stereos in before but this system baffles me
