Default Anyone got the satelite radio in there car.

I was just wondering if it is catching on or not and if anyone could give me some feedback as to how good it works and how it works. Is there a monthly fee or what.

Is the sound quality as good as a CD.

I was kinda lookig into it, but the antena(sp?) kinda turned me off. It's a little tacky, IMO. I have a friend that is getting it soon, I'll let you know how it turns out.

I think there is a 10 dollar a month fee for it, not sure though.

I belive that the price per month is $15, and now they have new antenas that are smaller then your fist. They have small flat ones, to taller, regular looking ones. They do have CD quality, but when u go undersomething, most of the time, u lose the signal. Not something to listen to in a garage. I don't own one, but rode around with someone who did. Also, talk to ppl at stores about the antenas.

Dark I have XM radio and I have been selling them like crazy I pay $9.99 a month and the quality is better than radio and there are a bunch more stations to choose!!! If you have a radio already for XM you will only have to buy a tuner box and an antenna which cost $200-$300. If your stereo isnt XM ready you will have to buy a RF modulated tuner and and antenna which runs about $300-$350.

See Ya,
Karen

Thumbs down

Sis no you need to at least have FM too if you want to go original looking in your car they have the am/fm stereos for classic mustangs this would work, you would need to get a RF modulated tuner and antenna. BUT if you dont car if that 65 has a aftermarket stereo I would get one XM ready that would save you some money because you only have to buy a turner box and antenna!

See Ya,
Karen

Before you buy XM, check into Sirrius(I think thats how it is spelled). It is another satellite radio company. Their price is $12.95/mo as opposed to XM's $9.95/mo, but from what I was told, there are NO commercials, and more music channels. XM has more channels, but alot of them are news and sports related. I have no experience with either of them, that is just what I have been told by people who sell them.
