Question cd player

the factory cd player is f**ked up. the track numbers will apear on the screen but it wont start playing the cd. it makes the noise as if it is trying to read the cd but after a while the cd player turns off and the radio starts playing. has that ever happened to anyone else? if so whats wrong with it?

Time for a new unit! Pick up a used unit from MPS or go aftermarket!

I was told from good sources that Factory decks have what they call a "Lifeline Timer" they breakdown within 3-4 years. Don't ask me why!??

It could just be that the read head is dirty - I've had the same problem with home CD players before. But by the time you pull the deck out and take it apart to try to clean it you might as well get a nice aftermarket deck if you have the cash.
