Mach I vs 02 GT
is there really a big difference in the new mach I and the 02 GT?
I heard one is 32 valve and one is 24. Is it worth the extra money for the mach I based on engine alone. I read an article that said the Mach I was going to be rated at 300 hp vs the GT 260. But is it just because of a few bolt ons that gives it more hp. |

Really a Big difference??
The GT has a 260HP 4.6L V8 with 16 valves. The Mach I will have 300+ HP with a 4.6L 32 Valve V8. This is the same engine that is in the 96+ Cobras. Only it will have "Ram Air" through its shaker hood. I mean how cool is that?!?! It's awesome. You'll also have the exclusivity of the a car like the Bullit mustang, only a few thousand Mach Is will be built! As far as I'm concerned there is no comparison! MACH 1! |

With a Mach 1 it will take the usual bolt-ons to get 300RWHP where as it would take port work, different intake and cams to get a GT into that range. The Mach 1 just overall has more potential to go quicker.

Also, just because two mustang engines have the same amount of HP and TQ doesn't mean they will perform the same. The design differences in the DOHC and SOHC allow for them to react differently to the same mods.

Yeah the hoods neat.
It looks pretty sweet but I'd rather have STB. I think it does a little more for performance then the shaker hood.

The Mach 1 is one of FORD's better offerings.
The shaker hood is by far the coolest thing in a while from FORD. |

Not to mention that bone stock with just a set of drag radials and a good driver they ripped off a 12.97.
