Question What size battery cables do I need?

I have moved the battery to the trunk of my car. I have a 140 amp powermaster alt. What size cables should I be running? Also should I run the ground back up to the block or ground it to the frame in the rear? Thanks

not sure if you really need to increase the pos. cable size, but you can ground it right in the rear, just match the gauge of the ground cable with the Pos. and I'm sure you know to make it a good , clean, solid connection.

I used a (1/O) "one-ought" cable. THis is basically a 600amp welding cable.

4 guage?? I used that for my alternator wire, you should go with a 1/0 guage cable for the POS side. Thats what I used, good insurance. If you ground the battery to the quad shock mounting bolt, you should be fine. Make sure all of your conections are clean and solid.
