Question PI Stallion...worth the cash...?

Heyooo...well I'm thinking about throwing on a PI Stallion torque converter on my aod. I was thinking about selling my vert for a 5spd coupe, but I really like my vert. What do you guys think I should do, anyone opposse to the torque converter besides drtbiker?lol. I want to make the AOD more fun. Well, back to the question. Is this thing really worth $700 and I know it claims 2 tenths in 60 foot times and about a 7 tenth reduction in 1/4 times...but for those of you who have one, is this really the case? let me know. I wanna use my money wisely!!! (I'm 17 and I work at an ice cream store COLD STONE!, so I want to make my money count!, don't we all?lol ) oh and if I get this, anything else I should really invest in? like a Tranny cooler or something, don't these AOD's heat up real bad and cause lower et's? , and also any other companies I should look for, for a torque converter, thanx!!!

I have a PI stallion, and I say "Yes", its worth it. I dont think the improvements they claim are true, at least not in all applications, but theres no question it performs and its a quality piece. I had another aftermarket converter before the stallion, and it didnt even compre. Go for it. Do it once, do it right.

Ditto. I noticed a reduction in heat from the center console afterwards.

The stallion is a qaulity piece and it will/should last forever. Factory converters last forever and they are cheap.

Sounds like you've made up your mind, but I'll also throw in a vote for the PI.

I've had mine about 2-3 years and it's dandy. Makes the AOD soo much more fun to drive. After I put it in, the more I drove the car, the more I liked the converter. PI builds quality stuff.

As far as tranny coolers, I went to a local junk yard and picked up an old stacked plate oil cooler off a Ford van. I flushed it and bought fittings and hooked her all up. I don't really reccommend this as mine sprung a leak after about 1 year. If I were you, I'd head to my local Checker store or Summit magazine and just pick up a stacked plate B&M cooler or equal.

Also, if you're serious about keeping the car, you have to get a shift kit from Transgo or Baumann. Or, if you've got cash to throw around, invest in a full valve body from the likes of Lentech or PA.

Go with the B&M 70264. It is a 24,000 GVW, 11 in. x 6 in. x 1 1/2" in. transmission cooler. You can get it from Summit or Jegs.
