Stock Tire Sizes
I'm looking to put new tires on my stock 90 GT wheels, the original tire size is 225/60 15. Here are some options I am considering:
BF Goodrich Comp T/A ZR - 225/60 15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A - 225/60 15 Mickey Thompson Indy Profile F70-15 or G70-15 OK here are my questions. First off, which size mickey's will fit my stock rims? Also, since the stock size is 225/60 15, can I simply up it to 245/50 15 w/o any problems? If so, how much bigger can I go w/o running into problems? I'm not looking to buy different size rims, fabricate my wheel wells, etc, I want to keep the stock wheels. Also, does anyone run these tires on their ride, if so, how do you like them? I'm a HUGE fan of white lettering, so if anyone has comments on these tires, or any other possibilities, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. |

I ran Radial T/A's on my Camaro.. They've got some decent grip, nothing miraculous though..and the treadlife totally sucks. The FRONT two tires are balding right now... Shouldn't see many problems changing tire size. Width is no issue, and height...well...there WILL be a slight inaccuracy in speedo readings when changing tire height, but it won't be much. Maybe 1 mph. Don't know how wide you can actually go but you can do the 245/50 15's without any problems. My Mustang has 245/50 16's in the back and 225/50 16's in the front.

I have 265/50 15's on the back with no problems. I had 225/60's on the front at one time. When I bought the car, it had 265/50 15 BFG Radial ta's on the rear and they hooked decently. Alot better than the Futura's that I have now.

265/50's were mounted on 15x7 or 15x8 momo 5 star rims.
