Question Bass in stang convertible

Anybody have any pointers on how to get any bass in a Mustang convertible? I'm not looking for mega thump but at least some balance. It seems to me that anything in the trunk wouldn't be great for 2 reasons: no room and space between trunk and cockpit for top. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have a Q-Logic 10" Bass Tube with a Kenwood 10" Sub(600 Watt) in the trunk. It is hooked up to a 300watt Jenson amp and it thumps nice. It sounds real nice with the top up, but when its down it looses a lot of the bass, but it still does a excellent job of balancing. I got the tube with the speaker for $180 with all wiring. It takes up less than half the trunk.

There is a plastic piece that sits over the top motor and hides where the top folds down into. When I took this out it eliminated ALL rattles coming from the trunk, and I have a cobra spoiler that I recently put on.

the best way to get bass in a drop top is use a fake worm to catch the thing and then throw the fish in your back seat.

LOL!
nice one.

Ya might want a fish bat: http://tackledirect.com/aftcofishbat.html

I don't know why you'd spend money on that, a piece of steel piping would do....

Have you looked into Bass stations? They are made for open air set ups like jeeps, and converts because you loose a lot of the sound when the top is down. Just a thought. Jonathan

I know Alpine sells them. Some of the other high end manufacturers probably do as well. Check with your car audio shop for specifics. Jonathan
