Post Mach 460

I usually end up spending my free money on performance mods, but those Crunchfield catalogs keep piling up, so I guess I'll ask:

I would like a changer. For whatever reason I would prefer to avoid the FM type changers, so can you add a changer? How hard is it?

Also, how good are the stock speakers and amps in the Mach 460?

Thanks.

Since my minidisk player went out on my system, I've been looking at the upgrading my system as well.
I don't know anything about hooking up a changer to the factory deck. I'd imagine it would work, but you wouldn't be able to control the changer. I'd suggest getting a new deck, not only would it sound better, but it would look a little nicer too.
As far as the speakers and amp go, I have blown the front passengers speaker without ever turning the volume all the way up. The amp seems fine for pushing factory speakers but if you plan on adding more you might consider stepping up to something with more power. For the speakers I'm planning on replacing them with Infinity Kappa's which have a 3 year warranty (cost around $150).
Hope this helps some.

The FM changers are not TOO bad.... I had my critism, but I installed one in my friends car and it works and sounds great.

If you have the stock deck, then get an aftermarket deck and then buy a external changer.

The stock Mach 460 amps and speakers work well. However my tweeters in the front are going and the bottom drivers (in the door) are rattling a bit, but thats from age and high-volume blasting. To an audiophile, the Mach 460 system needs many improvements, but to the standard listener, just adding an aftermarket deck will make your system come alive!

Don't forget to add a couple of subs!
