1969 Mach 1 Options and Data tags HELP ! :-)
As you know this past Saturday I made a find 1 block from my house in a neighbors side yard. My dream car, a 1969 Mustang Mach 1. The car appears to be original Except for the engine and in very restorable condition. I would like to start my restore by finding out as much as I can about the cars equipment and factory installed options. I have taken down all the pertinent information from the body tags that I located. Some of the facts and figures I was able to decode from what I found on the internet, some of the data remains a mystery. From what I can find it appears that I have a 1969 Mach 1 with a 351w, 9inch 3.00 rear, wimbeldon white with AC, PS and PB. The car was built in New Jersey on Feb. 4th and shipped to a dealer in NY. Hopefully there are some 69 mach 1 experts out there that can lend a hand and fill in the blanks, especially with the rest of the options that appear on the fender plate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here is what I have: Front fender plate: 22 29 A 63C 3D 9T02M170221 M WHITE AC PB GT TT DE LP CL RM MO PS HP TC 3S Drivers door plate: 63C M5 3D 04B 13 6X Rear end plate: WES-AA 9AD 3.00 9 952A Here is the car the day I brought it home http://64.14.35.98/dcp_0026.jpg ------------------ Thanks and Happy Mustang Motoring. Update: After posting this morning I did some serious surfing. The results are in. I Found several great sites, but the one that wins the award for Body Buck Tag data is:
http://www.multimania.com/gt69stang/usbodytag.html They have a listing of almost all the option codes and what they relate to. Check it out.... The only code that I have that they did not have data on is "LP" I am thinking it is Luxury Package but not positive. If anyone knows that would be great. ------------------ Thanks and Happy Mustang Motoring. Bart |

Barts_65....That car is in great shape. Good luck with it. Looks like there's gonna need to be a little rust repair though. No big deal though. Not a problem.
Do you plan on doing most/all of the work? Or are you going to have a shop pretty much restore it for you? Good luck and congratulations on the purchase! ------------------ Previously "BennyBoy" '69 Coupe with 351W-I rolled it 8/8 Edelbrock RPM intake, Edelbrock RPM cam, Edelbrock 750 cfm carb, Hedman headers, 2 1/2" pipe, glasspacks, C4: shift kit, 9" Currie: Trac-Lok 3.70s, 290hp-stock heads Starting Project "2ND COMING": 1969 Fastback |
