Question Mach 460 System Problems

I have a '96 GT with the Mach 460 Sound System. Recently I started getting an intermitant hissing and crackling from the right upper door speaker (tweeter only, not the lower door speaker). When I turn the music volume down, the hissing stays at the same level. I swaped speakers, the hiss remained on the same side. I then swapped amps side to side, the noise stayed on the same side. Could it be the wiring chaffing?
Please Help?!
Thanks,
Rich

Exclamation

The 'Mach 460' was the original Ford premium optional sound system for the Mustang. I have not modified it at all.
It has a tweeters ~2" dia(top front of the door) and a ~6" speakers (lower fornt of the door). In back, it has large speakers and a powered subwoofer. The amps are mounted under the rear deck.
I don't know the wiring scheme, just the symptoms described.
Thanks

i assume that you're getting to noise while playing a tape, cd or listening to the radio. if you've changed out the amp and the speaker you might want to try the radio. sometimes the outputs on the radio start to go bad and that is one of the symptoms.

lrrs168 I have a 00Gt and I had the same problem with my system. I kept hearing a hissing popping sound almost like a thunderstorm from my rear speakers. I kept taking it back to the dealership and they could never find anything untill I finnaly pointed it out to them. It turns out that one of the wires in the harness that plugs into the amp was lose and was moving around causing the popping and hissing that I was hearing. I hope this helps you out.
