Angry 1994 Mustang GT, idoling, problem

Okay, first of all thanks for atleast looking at my problem hehe

I own a 1994 mustang GT

Starting yesterday, my car will not go above 3000 RPM's.

I start out below 500 rpms (when sitting at a red light etc etc)
and then when i try to accelorate, my car WILL NOT go above 3000 rpm's and thats not even saying it stays at 3000, it will randomly go from 3000, to 2500, to 1500, back to 3000. I have no idea what this can be. My friend said it may be my fuel filter? Anyways...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-nick

Default idling problem

Yeah, it may be your fuel filter. Especially if it came on very sudden. Is it kind of sputtering in the higher rpms? If it's been a while since it's been changed...that's where I'd start.

Default fuel filter

It's right by your gas tank. Jack up the rearend of your car, it's right underneath the spare tire. Once you've replaced it, before starting the motor, make sure you turn on the ignition to accessory (the spot right before it actually cranks the engine over) to where you hear the fuel pump turn on. Then turn it back off. Do this like 3 or 4 times before trying to start the engine. This will fill up your fuel line with fuel, because air gets into it when changing the fuel filter and depressurizes the system. Otherwise you'll be cranking the motor over and over, wondering why it's not starting.
