Need HELP installing a new cd player in a 2000 V6 Mustang
I have a 2000 V6 Mustang and I want to install a new cd player and get rid of the factory one. Question is do I install the cd player where the tape deck and radio is or do I install it where the factory cd player is??? Do I need to take out both the factory cd player and factory tape player/radio?? What would I put in the hole left after taking them out???

Re: Need HELP installing a new cd player in a 2000 V6 Mustang
I pulled out both the CD player and the radio, and removed a lot of the wiring back there that connected the two. I installed the new head unit where the old radio was, and I had a same-sized pocket from my previous car that I put in the slot where the CD player used to be.
If you don't have a blank faceplate to put back there, you could leave the CD player where it is as long as you unhook all the cables from it. It won't hurt anything, except maybe the appearance, to leave it because it and the radio are two separate pieces. |

I recently changed the stereo in my 99 and i installed the new one where the radio was (on top) and left the cd player in the bottomslot. Doesn't look any worse then the factory setup.

You need to know if your car has a factory amplifier though. |
