Mustangs in the Movies.

When ever I see a Mustang (or another great car) in a movie I'm happy at first, but all that changes when they wreck it, crash it, or blow it up.

I remember going to see the remake of "Gone in 60 Seconds". I loved every minute of it until they dropped that huge crane on the most beautiful 67 GT 500 that I've EVER seen. I was so shocked that I started screaming, and I wasn't the only one either.

Does anyone else feel the way I do?

The WORST one I can think of was in "Disturbing Behavior" where a girl was hitting a 69 Boss 302 with a sledge hammer over, and over again. I came so close to writing Paramount a letter it's not even funny.

Eek. Tell me about all those movies. So painful, I went to see Rollerball at the movies acouple weeks ago, one of the guys drove a Shelby Series 1 (A very beautiful car, I told my g/f at the time if they ruin that car I'm going to scream), good enough they set it on fire, I screamed in the movie, AHHH.... NO! How could they, people just looked back at me. I'm like it was a beautiful car. lol Why can't there be a movie that just crushs hondas and ugly imports for like 2 hours. I'd pay damn good money for that. I think I'm on to something here. Anyone agree?

Killing Mustangs in the movies

I hate it when that happens - but I do like some reality, as in Bullit, where Steve McQueen comes back to the police station after his big chase with the Charger and asks for an unmarked police car because, as he explains; "My car is gonna be in the shop for awhile". Realistic. No cop cars are available, so Steve ends up driving his girlfriends little yellow VW Bug convert the rest of the movie. He also catches hell for the wild chase and the dead bad guys. Semi-realistic, at least.

In 'Christine' (a 1982 film based on the Stephen King book) at least the perfect red '58 Plymouth Fury repairs itself after being wrecked, burnt, etc.

I wish all cars could do that, but then, if they did, you would have to sell your soul to the devil or something so it probably wouldn't be worth it. :D

Back in '93, a movie came out entitled Born to Run. It's been so long since I've seen it that I can't really comment on the plot, but I remember the Mustang....

It was a bright red late 60's stang. And it had the squeeze. The plot was based around a street racing ploy...can't remember much more. The worst part, though, was at the end of the movie. Before he goes down to race his last race, he's sitting at the top of a hill overlooking the scene, and he gets out, goes to his trunk, and opens the valve on a little bottle of the silly. Then he goes down and runs this other bad-*** little rig and sprays with everything he has. His motor gives out, but he keeps his foot into it and crosses the line first, exiting the car just before it blows up.

Why they always gotta put the hurt on the kickin' cars?!?! Oh, the humanity!!

Interview with a Vampire. with Tom Cruise had that sweet first Gen Stang Convertable in it. Of course, what happens to it???? It wrecks.

99 percent of the time you see a Mustang in a movie, it Wrecks. Argh.

We need to write a script, and make a Mustang Movie, all of us at Mustang Works. About street racing, or something, like American Graffiti. Do the Mustang justice.

Show the Mustang for the American Icon it is. Unwrecked American icon.

Factor in the Dukes of Hazzard and the 68 and 69 dodge charger have to be the kings of getting trashed for entertainment.

Don't forget the '68 mustang they had in Dukes.
