Post Deleting Rear Seat

I will be taking out my rear seat here soon. Will getting rid of that and a/c help me much? Is there going to be a bare spot under the rear seat with no carpet? If so how do you fix it so it looks decent.

I had Jaz racing seats in my 94 for a while, and also took out the rear seat. I think it took about 60 lbs off, and I swore up and down I could feel a difference between the light front seats and no rear one. Yes, in the SN-95 you see the painted floor boards with all the ugly a$$ welds, but I suppose you could carpet it if you wanted to. I've been thinking about doing it again, when I order my new carpet, and modifying Fox hatch carpet to fit it.

Good Luck!

The rear seat weighs about 45 pounds, the A/C about 50 so figure about a 100 pound weight loss and a 1/10 decrease in et.

You can get the rear carpeted at a shop or buy carpet, cut and glue it in yourself.

Thanks alot...I think I will do that this weekend. When taking off the a/c. Is there a diffence between buying the pulley bracket where the a/c used to be or buying a shorter belt??

You can get a A/C eliminator kit.

Goto www.mustangofthemonth.com and check out how they installed the A/C eliminator kit.

Or you could go to ford and get the front and rear bracket for the power steering pumb on a non-a/c pony. It will move you power steering pumb up. Then you just run a shorter belt. I think this looks a lot better then the dead pulley.

The backseat doesnt look to bad out. I am getting a piece of wood and making it come down at the angle for the back to right behind the driver seat and carpeting it so it looks slanted. I will prob look into going to ford for that power steering move. Thanks
