You do not know what kind of envoironment they were in. Did they get wet, who knows. It's not clipping that blows speakers, it's the thermal energy that's created that blows speakers. So the old addage "you can blow a 1000 watt sub with a 100 watt amp" is false.

Also, Scala1 has some great deals on E-bay. I've gotten stuff from him before.
