Are you wanting to install aftermarket amps? There are two different wiring harnesses you can get that will allow you to do just that, kinda pricey. Seen them at circuit city and a car audio specialty shop. I never had luck with them, and ended up gutting the MACH system. The harness seem to use the high side and made the volume control crazy - but, it worked.

I was picking up come cd's yesterday at Circuit city, and figured what the heck. I asked the tech installers about the Ford alarm, and they were able to get a spec sheet and print it out. it is a color code list of wires and what they do. this is for the keyless entry, so i think you should be able to get something for the mach system, if you ask nice?

Question mach 460 amp harness

This is an old thread so hope you're getting responses in your mailbox. Did you make sure to use the harness that was plugged into the original receiver. Some professional installers do use that harness which hits the amps.

If you had the stereo professionally installed somewhere and they opted to use the other harness which comes standard on all Fords with and without 460 then it would bypass the amps. This harness is usually attached to the right wall when not in use ( i.e. in models with Mach 460 ).
