Default Wiring Question (Audio) - Anyone do this?

I've got some spare gear sitting around (subwoofer and amplifier) and here's my question:

How do I power the car amplifier from a home 110 outlet? I want to run a pre-out from a HT reciever to the powered sw, but I don't know how power the amp.

Surely someone has done this. Anyone?

Thanks!

I'm sure this COULD be done, but it would require massive amounts of rigging up. I wouldn't suggest doing this.

Use a battery charger. Plug it in, run a hot wire to your amp and ground it to something.

I don't know if it'll work, but it's a suggestion.

You could buy a power converter, but it probably wouldn't be adaquate to run an amp, you could use a spare battery lying around, but you'd only get a few hours before you'd have to recharge it. Personally I think whatever hassle or cost to take to get it to work isn't worth it. You'd be better off selling it and getting a home theater sub for $50-$150. Plus those are made for rooms and would probably sound better. -Phil
