Yet Another Stereo Question
So we managed to get the deck out, and got the wiring harness' all setup, then we found out there's some sort of a factory amp that wont let sound past it without having a factory ford stereo in there, is there any ideas on how to get rid of that bugger without re-wiring the speakers because the last owner went on a little bit of a...super glue craze with the speaker covers, The only idea I can think of is cutting the wires and soldering them together and then tapin em up, but I have not a clue which wires, so if anyone would be able to tell me a coloring code for a 90 lx mustangs factory amp, that'd be great.

Just yank the SOB out, and preferably smash it with a baseball bat.

There is a bypass harness you can purchase for your mustang. go to http://www.valcoelectronics.com/scosche/b_wiring.htm . Kit number FDK2B. This will allow you to bypass the factory amplifier and won't require you to run all new wires or do any wire splicing.

you can either use an amp bypass or get an adapter/integrater.
as the name implies, the integrater will let you still take advantage of the factory amps. but any decent decks these days should have enough power on its own without any factory amp.
