Default Interlock

Hi Everybody,

I have an 89 5.0 hatch back. The problem is: When I push the clutch in to shift, the car dies like I have turned off the key. Does not do this all the time. will do it 2 or 3 times in a row when I push the clutch in, and will not happen again for a couple of days I have hit a large bump in the road, and the car will shut down for about 1/2 a second, and right back on. When it dies, it restarts easily, on the first crank. I have checked for loose wires at the solenoid and starter, and could find none. Could this be the starter/clutch interlock? Car has never failed to start when I push the clutch in. I know someone else must have had a similar problem.
I hate to spend $40 on an interlock, and that not fix the problem, and don't really want to disable the interlock for the obvious safety reasons

Thanks for your help on this irritating problem.
