I need help with '01 stock radio
I cant for the life of me figure out how to get my stock headunit off. I have looked all over and nothing could tell me how to remove it. I have a 2001 v6 with the stock radio in it. Im trying to add the remote wire for the new system I added. If it were easier let me know where i could attach the wire. Thanks for the help

To get the radio out of the dash you can either get a tool made for this or just do what I did. Take a wire hanger - cut the curved ends to form 2 "u" shapes - insert these into the holes in the side of the radio - you will hear a "click" - use a little outward pressure and pull on the unit. The wire you are looking for is blue. The easiest way though is to connect it to a switched circuit in the fuse box. preferably a high amp one.
the12volt.com has excellent info.

I think I have a more ugent problem for you......I doubt you stock head unit has a remote wire.
You could make one....run a FUSED lenght of wire(16gauge) from a key-only power source in the fuse box back to the amp. Install a toggle switch so you can turn the amp on and off. Your gonna need a set of "keys" to take your HU out.

It will be way easier to just run the wire to the fuse box. I used the ACC fuse and if I remember correctly it's a 15 amp. bottom row with a blank circuit beside it. Did you try
the12volt.com they have a huge data-base....you don't have to have "keys" to get the radio out. anything you can release the clips inside with and apply gentle pressure with will work. one can never have enough fuses.....

Re: I need help with '01 stock radio
Pop off the panel in the middle of the dash that houses the vents, goes around the HVAC controls and radio, and down towards the center console. It's held on by spring clips. It might be necessary to pop off the shift boot as well to get this panel out of the way.
Once you do that, the bolts holding the radio in should be obvious.

File Recovery
I spent time for adjusting the balance on the speakers in the driver's side door panel is barely putting out any sound.
