Alternator/Volt levels with high powered sound system
Hey, I just installed two Audiobahn Alum 10" subs in my car - they can handle about 800 watts each, I only am using a 400 watt amp right now, waiting on my 2200 watt amp. The only thing is that my voltage drops when I turn up the volume. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just get a better alternator? I am afraid when I put in my other amp I am going to blow out my alternator... help!

I would definitely recommend a higher capacity alternator to anybody who is installing a high wattage system in their car. Factory Alternators are not designed to have that much power pulled from them and you are probably right about blowing it.
