Question cd player

the factory cd player is f**ked up. the track numbers will apear on the screen but it wont start playing the cd. it makes the noise as if it is trying to read the cd but after a while the cd player turns off and the radio starts playing. has that ever happened to anyone else? if so whats wrong with it?

Sounds to me like the lens is dirty. I believe they make a cleaner kit for it. Although now would be they perfect time to upgrade to a aftermarket head unit and enjoy increased power and better sound clarity.
