Default Need help fixing gas gauge. 68 Mustang

I have a 68 Mustang with a gas gauge that doesn't work. I replaced the in tank sender with a known good one. Still doesn't work. I tested the voltage at the sender. It is there. I added a ground wire from gas tank sender mounting area to chassis ground hoping I just had a bad ground. No luck. Gauge still doesn't work.
How can I trace and fix my gauge (stock factory gas gauge).

Did you try grounding the wire that goes forward to the gauge?? With the key on the gauge should read FULL with wire grounded. If not.....First check the continuity of the wire from the fuel tank sender to the gauge. If that is good, the only part left is the gauge.
