Sub box in spare-tire compartment?
Does anyone know if any company makes custom boxes that fit in the spare compartment for 87-93 hatchbacks? I think I have seen them before, but now I can't find them.

JL audio makes a box that fits in the spare tire well. It comes with a 10" woofer and amp.

I thought it was JL, but wasn't sure. But if you go to their web-site, they don't list it with all the others. Did they discontinue this model?

yes they discontinued the 87-93 model about 2-3 years ago. It was a shame too! Not sure if they still make one for the 94-present.

The box was made by JL audio. They discontinued it because it was made for a 10w4 wich isn't available any more. It didn't come with a amp but had a place to mount one in it. They still have a box for 94 and up convertable and coupe. It uses a 10w6 sub and mounts on the passanger side trunk. costs about $475.00 retail.
------------------ 91 lx 5.0. A.O.D. 70,000 miles. K&N,pullies,wires,14 Degree timing,Art Carr A.O.D. w/10"3000 stall non-lockup converter,one-piece shaft,a-servo,clutch pack,cooler,and more. Weld drag lites (what else!) Flowmaster 2-chamber,off-road H pipe. |
