5 lug pony wheel
hello everyone,
i have an 89 mustang with a 5 lug conversion (sn95 spindles, rotors calipers, rear axles, calipers, rear disc, ect) does anyone make a 16inch pony wheel that will fit this application? I realize that pony R makes 17, and 18 inch wheels, but i would like them in a 16 inch. (for a factory look) any help would be great!! |

Re: 5 lug pony wheel
I actually found this thread in a Google search. I know it was posted back in June but I do have a set of 16x8 OEM five lug Pony wheels. They are from the 94 model run. I remembered seeing them in a dealer brochure but never saw them in person until a buddy of mine offered them to me for sale. They have the same offset/backspacing as the 94-04 17" wheels which is 30mm/5.72" respectively. So these would fit a Fox Mustang perfectly with an SN95 5 lug conversion.
So they are out there if you can kick over the right rocks. |

Re: 5 lug pony wheel
I think finding them is like trying to find a different length needle in a stack of needles.
I have hem hawwed back and forth to sell these or not. They do need to be cleaned up and possibly repainted. I also only have two centercaps but any 91-93 pony centercap will fit. If you're truly interested in them I'll clean them up this weekend and post pics. If you like what you see I'll let you make me an offer on them. I could use the money to finish up the suspension on my 88. I bought them with the intentions of putting them on an LX w/ SN95 conversion for that stock look you're talking about. The great thing about them is that you could put a 245/45/16 on all four and rotate them. |

Re: 5 lug pony wheel
I'm in TN. Where are you?
I've pretty much got all that I need for my motor. Unless you have a Maximum Motorsports Heavy Duty Torque Arm laying around I really need the cash for them. I did go to the junkyard today for some small parts and actually got two centercaps for them. So they're a complete set now. I'll post some pics of them either tomorrow or Sunday. I'm probably going to repaint them because they're pretty faded. They're all in the condition of the one in the pic above or better. Suprisingly there's no curb rash either. |

Re: 5 lug pony wheel
Here are pictures of all four of them together.
They present well but the paint is pretty faded. I have no idea why the centers are painted black. You can take your fingernail and the black paint peels off. One of the centercaps is a little darker than the other three and another one has the tri bars painted white (bottom right). The wheels are basically in the same shape as a pony wheel that's been on a regularly driven 91-93 Mustang. If I were going to put them on a car of mine, I'd buy the VHT Ford Argent paint and make them tip top shape. I'll be honest in that the lowest I can go on these is $450 plus shipping. If I do refinish them I'll need more for time and materials. |

Re: 5 lug pony wheel
Hhhmm... I was kind of expecting a counter offer. Make me an offer I can't refuse. These wheels keep tempting me to look for a car to put them on. Selling them is the best way to get rid of the temptation.
