Car Wax Removal? (For Paint Touch-Up)
I've got some spots on my front bumper I'm planning on hitting with a little touch-up paint. What is the best way to take the wax off? I know people who have done it by accident with dish soap, but I was wondering if there was a better way to go.
Thanks for the info! |
Re: Car Wax Removal? (For Paint Touch-Up)
Get some wax and grease remover. You can usually find it in a small can at Walmart in the section of automotive where they sell bondo and cheap touch up paint. If you can't find any, paint thinner will do, just DONT use laquer thinner. Gasoline works pretty good too. Hope this helps!

A detailing clay bar will remove any wax on the finish. Also, there's nothing wrong with hitting the front bumper with a Dawn wash (uncented, plain old generic dawn). Just re-apply the polish/wax when you're done.
