Post Cheap car covers??

What do you guys think about cheapos, i have a "spun bonded propylene" walmart special, but is this doing more harm? i mean i heard these arent good for paint, i just started using it again, because im trying to keep the car clean, and noticed a chip in the paint on front of hood with looks like rust , but cervini cowl hood is going on anyways......thnx
