Cleaning the intake manifold on 5.0
He, a friend of mine pointed out some Eagle 1 Nevr Dull wadding polish. He rubbed a little bit on my intake and you could tell a difference. I bought some last night and polished the rest of the intake and you can definitely see a difference. Just thought I'd let you guys know (not that anyone ever comes to this forum anyway  )

.... see, I told you...... :D

LOL
Any before/after pics of how it turned out? |
heh, heh. :)
No decent b4 pics but some medium-quality "after" pics. Here's one: http://members.mustangworks.com/site...leanintake.jpg |
That looks pretty good! How's the up-keep? Do you just wipe down the intake every now and then or do you use the polish everytime?

Thanks.
As far as upkeep, man, all I did was rub it clean then wiped it by hand with dry cloth and it became shinier and much cleaner. I haven't touched it in about 2 months. It keeps really nice if you go over it about once every 3 months to keep the intake clean and if you do it often, it take much less scrubbing pressure. The first time I did it, it took about 30 minutes to do it well. The second time I did it, it only took about 10 minutes. B4 it was dull and had different shades of dirt on it, the kind that is there from years of collecting. The kind that if you took soap and water to it, the dirt and grime would just look at you, point, and laugh in your face. But the Nevr Dull took off years of depreciation in a few minutes. The first time takes a little elbow grease though (pressure, ie hard scrubbing) for some areas, but it's worth it. It's the type of cleaner/shiner that works great on textured surfaces (which the intake isn't really smooth) by getting in all the minor valleys of the surface. One more thing, on the front of the intake (not in the pic posted here) while standing at the front of your car, on the front right side of the intake, there is that round indented circle that is smooth. Mine was really grimy inside and after I finished it, it reflected the blue conduit that I accented my engine with. It shined it up so good that it reflected the blue. That was cool. Just wanted to let some people know anytime I find any decent products. Thanks for replying. ;) |
