Angry front fender interchange probs

replaced the fenders on my 87 lx,
had it painted,
went to put the lower fender extensions and mouldings on the lower front of the front fenders,
the fenders have a different bolt pattern
for the extensions, and the mouldings,
WTF?? anyhow, the fenders appear to have a bit smaller wheel opening, than the 87s, '
when i look up fenders for an 87 it says in the mps site that 79-90 are the same,
i know these are oem fenders from an 85 what gives??
thanks, very frustrated.... lxhatch

Have you ever looked at the extensions befor? Almost all of the extensions had different patterns. However the fenders are all stamped out of the same mold from 79-93 so the wheel openings ( unless manufactured by a hack artist....and in that case send them back ) will all be the same...and for the extension mounting holes, go get a drill.

thanks for the reply,
after checking things out a bit,
i found my fender extensions, and the old front fenders were from a 91 or newer and i was trying to put the narrower extensions on there, no-go..
now that i know i have 90 and older fenders,
the only problem i can see is the 87 belt mouldings, need trhe holes elongated a bit,
probrably when i get the correct fender extensions they will fit properly too,
thanks for the reply,, LX
