Just broke into 12's in my NA 95 Convertible!!!
Well I might just be the happiest man alive right now. I never, ever thought this day would have come. I have a 95GT convertible that I just added AFR heads, FTI (Ed Curtis) custom cam, EEC Tuner, 24lb injectors, 75mm Pro-M MAF, and 190lph fuel pump to. Stock my car ran the 1/4 in 15.2 seconds at 90mph. Well yesterday at Mason Dixon Dragway at the all ford event I managed a new best. My 3690lb convertible broke into the 12's with a 12.92 at a whopping 106.85mph with a 1.85 60' on my nitto 555R's. I can't believe it!!! My wife was a little made as I did it on a 13.05 dial in, and she told me to dial in at 12.90. I knew I broke out, but I knew that I must have been on my way to something better than a 13.05, and to me the 12 second ET was worth more than the money up for grabs.
It was a good day for my mom and dad too. My dad manged a new best in his 91GT that has the Holley systemax II kit on it. Yesterday he managed a 12.6 at 107mph on ET streets. My mom also placed 3rd in her class in the car show with her '01 BULLITT. It was a good day for all. ------------------ 1995 NA GT CONVERTIBLE BEST ET: 12.92 BEST MPH: 106.85 AFR's, FTI cam, edelbrock intake, EEC TUNER and lots more. http://www.angelfire.com/pa2/killercanary |

Looks like those heads have paid for themselves already. It wasn't too long ago you were running high 13's on the stockers.

I can't praise the AFR heads and Ed Curtis custom cam enough. They are both worth the money I spent on them and they turned my car into a killer street machine. Yeh, it wasn't long ago that I was at 13.8 at 98mph, but the heads, cam, and fuel upgrades have knocked almost a complete second from my times and gained me 9mph!!! That's a lot I think for just heads and cam, plus a little tinkering with the computer.
Everything just went right that day... too bad every day at the track can't be like that! ------------------ 1995 NA GT CONVERTIBLE BEST ET: 12.92 BEST MPH: 106.85 AFR's, FTI cam, edelbrock intake, EEC TUNER and lots more. http://www.angelfire.com/pa2/killercanary |

know that feeling, I swapped intakes and lost .2 and 2 mph... not sure if it's the weather or the intake.. you'd think the performerRPM would have picked up the top end over the perfomer... but.. NOOO...of course, maybe being humid and hot instead of just hot didnt help... who knows.. hahaa

AS I already said Congrats to the whole family. What did you dad end up at for FP with the new regulator, did that solve the problem?
Just wanted to let you know how Sunday at 75/80 went. On the first pass I went 12.19 @ 113.5 on a 1.78 60ft so I was happy to see it pick-up 2mph and almost tied my best number with worse traction. That was the best pass it got hot and traction was no where to be found 1.80-2.10 and 12.3-12.5 sec passes all at 111.5-111.9mph, the heat killed my car as power fell off at 6000rpms. I installed the Superchip that just moves the factory rev limiter from 6250 to 7000. With cold air I shifted the car at 6500 and it was pulling great. Can't wait for cooler weather and next time I'll go to a track that actually takes care of the surface like Mason or Cecil. ------------------ Check Out My Site 91GT,Holley SysteMAX II Kit-Heads 2.02" x 1.60" port matched to a 1262,Anderson N-61,24#,76mm C&L,Full MAC exhaust 1-5/8" Long tubes,2-1/2" O.R H-Pipe,2 1/2" cat back, No A/C or PS or emissions, 12" K&N Filter,RNH PERFORMANCE Ram Air,Ron Davis Radiator,Full Suspension, SPEC stage III clutch, Lakewood SFI bell, S&W 8pt "X" brace,JAZ seats,3:73's,Welds..etc,4:30's and 31 splines coming very soon! <B [This message has been edited by Rick 91GT (edited 08-28-2001).] |
