Default Window regulator?

l have a 1973 mercury marquis 4 dr brougham and the front passenger side window won't roll up or down, when l press the switch, the motor sounds like it going to roll the window up/down, but the window moves less than an inch and the motor then sounds like its straining.

l know the window is still on its track. (it still lines up with the door) makes me wonder if its a bad regulator. if so, does anyone know where i can find replacement parts for this thing? l've checked junkyards and local parts shops, but could find nothing. do the lincoln and ford equivelant cars use the same regulators?

thanks for your time

mike
