fiberglass hatchback

I have owned my 91 GT for 5 years now and have put alot of time and goodies into it. Now I have to do something with my hatchback. (yes rust) and looks pretty bad on the underside. Just wanted to know if anyone had some input on the fiberglass hatch. Is it any good? can I put all the parts back on to it from factory?
(or should I just buy a new factory one)

Thanks,

One thing I learned about fiberglass deck lids is that they cannot use the stock lift cylinders. You have to carry around a stick to prop it up. This may not be true for all lids, but something you may want to check out before you buy one. Other than that, I might just hit a boneyard and see if you can find a decent used one there.

Good luck, and let us know what you end up doing.

I have one and am going to put it on in the next week I put 2 new stock lift cylinders last year and it is hard to close it with the old steel one. I think I will go to the Junk yard a do that. How hard is it to put the Lock in to it looks like I need to cut it.
