Angry The grime has to be alive!

What is the best thing to use to get this nasty, (I swear it has to be alive) growing grime off my car? It's like little black freckles that only appear after the winter up here.

I picked (gently) at these awful things for over 4 hrs and they're still THERE!

Please help!

Default Possibility

I have some stuff that a friend of mine sells that is supposed to take all sorts of crap off without hurting the paint. I am going to guinea pig my Datsun and see if it will clean up the gas/tar stain that is accumulating from the lack of seal on my gas cap. That should be this weekend at the latest, and I'll let you know if it works. I'll let you know what happens.

A little rubbing or polishing compound will work, just be gentle cause that stuffs very abrasive. It will take away the top coat so you will have to rewax after. Also a clay bar works well at getting rid of stuff stuck to the paint.

Whoa! I'm feeling a panic attack coming on. Isn't there a less stressful method of doing this?

Then try the clay bar, most detailing shops or parts stores will have them.
