How can I restore the shine to my exaust pipes?
The chrome pipes on my 93 notchback aren't as shiny as I'd like them to be.
Any ideas on how to restore the shine? Windex ain't gettin it done. Would that TV product "CLR" work? |

Re: How can I restore the shine to my exaust pipes?
Wash them as far back as you can reach. Then get some OOOO steel wool and rub them down really good. You may need some wax and grease remover (enamel reducer, paint thinner) to clean any tar and road oil off. Then get some NevRDull, and pull off a piece of the cotton wadding and rub it in, don't just wipe it on, rub it good. Then take a clean towel and polish it. You will be amazed!

Yea orange97 said it best. I would recomend a metal polish as well and a polishing microfiber to keep it looking its best for the future too.

Laquer Thinner (careful not to get on paint) and Blue Magic Metal/Chrome Polish is what I use on my exhaust system.. I have a Stainless H-Pipe and Chrome Tail Pipes..
Have fun!!
