Question Letter inserts

I wonder what the best way to re-letter the inserts is on the air effects dams (lower body trim) on my 87 GT? ("MUSTANG GT" on left, right, and rear).

I've seen ads for vinyl decals that might work -- some cheap on ebay, some more expensive from retail outfits.

I thought of having my niece paint them in by hand.
