Default Paint Stabilizers

Im against a wall here because I've got a pint of mineral grey basecoat paint, an acryllic clearcoat and activator and sand paper for wet/dry sanding...only luckily I read the back of the paint I got that wants me to use a Sherwin Williams paint stabilizer with it..problem is the closest Sherwin Williams that deals in automotive touch-up supplies is 300 miles away. Is there any cheap stabilizer I can use in its place or do I need it at all. I'm just repainting the rocker molding on the car so it does'nt need to be absolutely white-glove perfect, just good enough to blend with the rest of the car.

I would try to order it online, most paint is ment to be used as a system. (of course they always want you to use all their stuff...) I would imagine you have done something since this post is pretty old, but best of luck to you.

My friend just got done painting his car. They painted it 3 times all together, but heres the reason. The first two times, the paint wrinkled. The final time, he mixed his paint with the clear and the problem didnt occur. Any ideas on this?

Yeah, they didn't wet sand before applying the clear coat.
