Detail

Anyone have a good tip to clean-detail my 87 black stang. Original paint is still good, just dull with some marks in the polish. Has been kept inside .
Thanks,,,

Use some Meguire's wax

It's what I've used in the past and it seems to work pretty well. You can get it at most automobile stores (Kragen, Autozone, etc) Keith

I just did mine recently. I used 3M buffing compound and an 8in buffer. I'd recommend a 6in buffer next time, but 8 was available. I don't recall the part # of the compound. Should be available at most body shops or automotive paint stores. It's right around $40/quart, but it works awesome. After I was finished I topped it off with Rain-X wax. Couldn't believe the difference. If you've got a lot of elbow, Mothers works pretty good. Never tried it with a buffer though.

Good luck

BUFF IT!

You might want to take it to a body shop and have them buff the paint, here in Oklahoma it only cost 75 dollars and it really looked nice when they were done!!! :)

I have been using Zaino for over three years now and have nothing but praise for it. It's not available in stores but yo ucan order it from www.zainobros.com . And if you have any questions about the polish, you can call and talk to the man, Sal Zaino himself. How many other companies can you do that with?? Whatever kind of polish/wax you go with, I wold recommend using a clay bar before the polish/wax. The clay bar will get rid of all the things you can "feel" but not see. It will leave your car smooth as glass and will provide an excellent base for the polish/wax.

Kamaro Killer: My ex-girl took my digital cam during the break-up. I don't have $300 to buy another one right now...so those pics of the 85 taillights won't be taken for some time.
