What is the best way to remove window tint and the glue mess left on the window?

I did mine with a single edged razor blade. Tint, glue and everything comes off in one pass slick as a whistle.

Good ole muscle and plenty of razor blades. I usually wet the tint with some soapy water during scraping.

Getting window tint off is not fun, it does depend on how long its been on there, I had to take mine off b/c I got pulled over and its illegal here in illinois, and let me tell you I rather pay the ticket than do that again, but yeah like they said alot of razor blades and I even used a de-greaser to help start it, some sort of paint thinner might help too! Good Luck!

It's been on my '82 since I bought it in 1990. I got pulled over in the first week I owned it and was told to remove it.
I went home and added another layer on top of that one just for spite..........
It's been that way ever since. When I used to take it for inspection, I made sure the windows were down. Sometimes the mechanic would just say" As far as I'm concerned, you put it on after it left the garage".

Anyhow, it's all scratched up and since I need to submit photos of the car(with windows up) to D.OT in order to get my COLLECTABLE plate I have to remove it now.
Maybe I'll put it back on after I get the plate...........

Believe it or not, Windex takes the glue off the windows. Anything with amonia in it will take the glue off, that's why they say not to clean tinted windows with Windex. I went after mine with a razor blade and lots of windex to clean it up.

i used rubbing alcohol and window cleaner to take it off of mine. Steal wool will take the glue off cause it actually polishs glass. I just use cheap glass cleaner and steal wool on my windows and it comes out perfect.

At first when i tryed it i was like "i hope this doesnt scratch my windows". but it works really good. I just used some steel wool and some window cleaner and my windows look really good.

I ripped my tint off the windows within the first week I had the car. The film came off in one piece but all of the glue remained on the window. I got the glue off with a razor blade and alot of patience. Good luck!
