If you do. Which shop did you go with? How does it run? What is the rest of you combo? Thanks, Jason.

Skyler, nice to be back
Thanks unit LX, stock 15.20. But the last time I bought a motor, I put it in the car bone stock. Old wires, mud from the wrecking yard, etc... I had to use my underdrive pullys and headers. Reguardless, it went 13.42 @ 102. I changed plug wires and the intake and TB, it went 13.0s. Then "MY" E7TEs and it went 12.80s @ 105 On slicks. Then the B and the Edle's it went 12.8s at 107.99 on street tires. Then changed from flowmasters to QuikFlows and went 12.55 @ 109.5 on street tires. Then tuned it to a 12.38 @ 112.?? on Street tires. then a slick pass of 12.17 @ 111. then a 100hp hit of gas, spun like crazy let up, missed 5th on the big end and ran 11.72 at only 109. ------------------ 88workcar 1988 Mustang LX - 12.17 @ 112 MPH! |

I got a 393. Check my sig. for the combo info. I had a local reputable engine builder build it to FRPP crate engine spec and made sure I tied up the bottom end with a DSS main support system. It runs like a bat out of hell and I haven't even had it above 5 grand. It's a lot for the streets around here. Only had 200 miles on it when I realized my tranny cooler was clogged (teflon tape), but it was too late. The damage was done. I was told by my engine builder than my bearing clearance had increased about 4 thousands from spec and that my tranny expanding during the overheat pushed against the crank. He told me I could still drive it but not to get on it super hard and not to take it down the track until I can get a new set of bearings. That's what I was told so I'm pulling the engine this weekend but the bad news is the track closes this Sunday for the season so I won't have any ET #'s until next spring But I know that it has to run in the 12's. Are you thinking about getting 1?

ROTY, a have been considering a 393. I honest to goodness believe that I can make 500hp with one. Also, it should last quite a while. I will start with a carb, then go to the fuel injection. Speed density.
2fast, its still flourescent green. ------------------ 88workcar 1988 Mustang LX - 12.17 @ 112 MPH! |
