engine appearance - '01 Bullitt
Hope someone can help. FORD won't.
Problem is aluminum components on my 4.6 are corroding, evidenced by a white, powdery substance. My son's Cobra has a nice looking coating, which I assume prevents this corrosion. I asked FORD for help. They said "it's normal." I then asked them to contact FORD Engineering to see what the coating is on the Cobra engine, so I could obtain it to fix my problem. No answer from FORD. Dealer says a product named "415" may work. Any one experience this problem and/or have a solution? Thanks. |

You may want to check out a product called CD-2 Engine Detailer. It is a two can package, one is a cleaner and the other is a detailer. The detailer is an all surface protectant that is sprayed on all plastic, metal, rubber, etc. (except the belts!) that provides a "just from the factory" look. It has protected the engine of my 93 Cobra very well over the years. Hope it helps.

I can't thank you enough. I looked at the jpeg of your engine - it looks really great!
I will try the CD-2 [roduct and post the results so others see it. Thanks again. |
