Default under drive pulleys

I'm getting ready to replace a lot of parts in my 88' gt with some better parts. I'm working on the front engine bay area, which means that I'm removing everything.....the front bumber, radiator, and anything everything else that I'm replacing. I was thinking, while I have off everything should I just go ahead and replace the pulleys with some nice blue anodized underdrive pulleys? Here's the deal, I have a 100 amp alternator that I'm going to install and I'm also putting in a decent sound system....nothing that will break windows tho. Here's my question, if I install the underdrive pulleys, will my sound system be effected much? If so, what can I do to improve apon the power situation with the sound system? Thanks

I was told that underdrive pulleys do affect the charging with a big stereo. I would go with a 130 amp alternator. I'm looking at getting the 130 amp alternator from powermaster. I have a 90 LX and am even going to upgrade my ground cables in my car.

Oh, hmm. If I would of thought of this before, I wouldn't of bought my alternator already. Too late to return it now. Oh well.

If you already have it, consider upgrading the ground cables and connections in your engine bay.

Some better parts would actually be keeping what you already have.... the stock pulleys. Running the 100a alt with the underdrive on it would be like running the stock alt with stock pulleys. The underdrive will just slow the alt down, and in heavy traffic / low engine speeds charging may become a problem. I would just bead blast the stockers if they are in rough shape and have them painted or powder coated.
Sometimes the stock stuff actually works better then you think!
