My Last Paint Question
Do you use the same kind of primer to paint over an existing clearcoat (without sanding) as you would when applying a base coat after sanding? In other words, this is NOT a classic car I'm painting, its a 2001. Since the new clearcoat is smooth and for the most part untarnished and the shadow grey coat I'm applying is only 2 or 3 shades darker than the color grey the car is now, do I still need the primer to hold the base coat on?

Re: My Last Paint Question
Nevermind. I found the 10th Ann. 2003 SVT Cobra rocker molding, only its' already painted. I just wanna paint those to match. I can send a piece of my existing side skirts over to the supply store and they'll match and mix the paint...I just wanna make sure I can use a primer over the existing clearcoat and reseal the new paint. I guess the rocker molding is urethane, or plastic however you see it.
