whats the best way to remove oxidation?
Something easy and cheap to do preferrable. I know some guys who have this liquid solution that will take it right off, can you buy this in stores???

Nothing beats good ol' rubbing compound.

I agree with Black99GT. I have a black Mustang too and nothing cuts it like rubbing compound. I painted the molding around the rear window recently, without masking well enough. I had overspray bad. I used the red compound by Turtle Wax, available for $2.00 everywhere, and cut right through this overspray. It took one pass to do it. I should emphasize that I did this by hand rubbing. The machine is easier but it is also easier to burn through to the paint if you don't use such a tool every day. After you cut through with the compound you will need a swirl and scratch remover to take it to the next level. Use the swirl remover until the scratches created by the compound are gone. I had to apply and polish three times before I got all scratches out. Then wax as you normally would and that should make a noticable improvment. I used Meguiers products because they are in my opinion one of the best for the price.
Hope this helps. It's a lot of work but it's worth it. |
