Wink Should I put ground effects on my car?

I have a '03 Mustang GT. It is black, But I was thinking about putting ground effects on it and a ghost flame paint job? But I have been told that ground effects can slow me down! Any suggestions?

I just got a black 03 GT convertible and was thinking about some kind of effects. I haven't seen any except the two bold gold stripes down the center. I'm not sure how that would work with my head scoop. I'd love to see what you decided on.

Unless you're really into racing at the strip you really won't be able to tell a difference. You lose a tenth of a second for every 100 pounds added. Definitely go with the ghost flames!

May want to look into lowering the car. That will make it handle a little better and want slow you down. You can get it down about an 1.5 inch. The '03 sort of has ground effects on it already and lowering the car brings them out. Not sure what you would pay for ground effects but lowering an new wheels is an option.

I agree with MustangJohn. Lower the car with some $200 springs. Will help with looks and they work. Also, I added a chin spoiler like one on the Mach 1. Low cost too.

The double, Shelby racing stripes look great if done right.

Good luck!
