What mods if any have to be done to get a 87 LX Header onto a 83 GT. Thanx Charles

Fit wise it should fit no problem. I have flowtech shorties made for 87-93 Mustangs on my 82. And they work great and bolted right on. The only thing you will probably have to do is modify the pipe so it meets the headers. But i may have had it easy since my engine bay sports none of the emissions.

I agree with RoadWarrior. On my '85 I bought headers that were for an '87-93 and they fit just fine. I had to buy a new X-pipe for an '86 and it bolt right up after I removed the heat riser thingy on the drivers side. Of course, you should swap to a double hump transmission mount to make clearance for the X-pipe.

If you want to go to a dual exhaust, I would recommend doing the headers, X (or H) pipe, and cat-back all at the same time. that way you don't have to retrofit anything then change it back.

And just to let you know, post technical questions like these in the Windsor Power forum. You will get better responses there.
