Question Painting my car

Hello all - I usually post in the classic mustang area, but I thought this would be a more appropriate place to get a good answer. I am in the process of replacing all the metal on my 65 mustang and am starting research on what type of spray gun to get to paint my car. I know how to paint, but have not kept up with the latest technology in spray equipment and paints. I have a regular Devilbiss suction gun, but have read that the gravity gun is the best type to use. Can anyone share any thoughts on what gun they have some experience with and what paint would be a good choice. I am not looking for a show car quality paint job, just a nice durable paint. I am planning on driving the car and I am sure it will get it's share of rock chips and dings....but it is stored indoors so weather will not be an issue.
Thanks for any advise...
TJ

Im not too sure about what kind of gun to use but my brother is a painter and there is quit a few of different brands of paint to choose from that are good..... BASF, PPG.... Are you wanting to use a kandy or a tricoat? Kandy is a b*tch to paint cuz of it being transparent. I have kandy on my car now its called Winefire, its a real deep almost like a black cherry color.

PPG is good stuff I just got mine painted using a PPG basecoat/clearcoat in Sonic Blue Pearl. It looks pretty nice right now for not having been wetsanded or buffed yet

Also I believe the new gravity feed HLVC paint guns are the ones to get. That may not be the exact letters but it is something like that.

I use a Binks HVLP gun. (high volume low pressure) There's very little overspray which also meens less paint used/wasted.
