Default What about dyeing or staining carpet?

I just finished installing front and rear seats out of a Toyota.
They are grey and black so it doesn't look so good with my grayish/tannish (or whatever that stock color is) looking carpet.
I know I can buy a whole new molded carpet but I'm wondering if anyone has ever used a dye or something else to change color. I just want it to be a darker gray and thought it would be cheaper and easier to avoid having to take all the seats & console out to re-carpet.
